ANNA KARENINA's interiors in Elle D'ecor
In a special piece in Elle D'ecor, Ingrid Abramovitch speaks with Sarah Greenwood, the talented production designer of ANNA KARENINA about creating the film's unique and sumptuous look. To show it, the online edition has a slide show of rooms. For Anna Karenina's bedroom (done up in blue), Greenwood comments, "It really frames the angst in those scenes, where Anna is in turmoil, waiting for her divorce. But it was a repressive color. At the end of the film, when we had a sale of furniture left over from the film, nobody wanted it."
