Christopher Plummer Honored at Sarasota Film Festival

Over the weekend, Beginners' Christopher Plummer was honored with others at the Sarasota Film Festival. He was there to receive the Cinema Master Award at a black-tie event at the Sarasota Opera House on Saturday night. The next day, Plummer sat down with NPR film critic David Edelstein for a special event called “In Conversation with Christopher Plummer.” Wade Tatangelo reported on the event for Bradenton.com. For all it was a memorable evening of Plummer recounting a lifetime of memories about films, actors, and humorous misadventures. He even had a few from Beginners (which got a special screening at the festival a few hours later):

When Edelstein asked Plummer about preparing for his first kiss with a man, he couldn’t resist making the hall roar with laughter. “The actor who plays my boyfriend is very butch and nervous and then petulant about it,” Plummer recalled. “I said to him, ’What’s wrong with kissing me?’“ He added, with a chuckle, “It was rather pleasurable.”
