Focus Features awarded Golden Dumpster for Sustainable filmmaking

Focus Features, along with other media companies, will be honored on May 11 for their sustainable production practices at the First Annual Golden Dumpster Awards held in New York City. The Golden Dumpster Award, sponsored by New York's Film Biz Recycling (FBR), is so named for recognizing productions that recycle sets, costumes and other production items rather than throwing them in the dumpster. Focus Features will be awarded Most Tonnage from a Feature Production Company, for diverting 33.68 tons cumulatively since 2008 on movies such as ADMISSION, IT'S KIND OF A FUNNY STORY, and TAKING WOODSTOCK. In addition, NBC's 30 Rock gets the for Most Tonnage From a TV Show Award with 10.74 tons of donated materials.
