When Sarah Jessica Parker and Taraji P. Henson announced the nominations for the 78th Golden Globe Awards, we were thrilled to see both Promising Young Woman and EMMA. being recognized. Chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Golden Globe nominations are often viewed as a harbinger of the Oscar® race. This year’s awards ceremony will be hosted by veteran emcees Tina Fey and Amy Poehler but with the twist that Fey will be presenting from the Rainbow Room in New York City and Poehler from The Beverly Hilton on the West Coast. The live awards show will air on February 28 at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST on NBC.
Promising Young Woman | Four Nominations
With four major nominations, Promising Young Woman became one of Golden Globes' most honored films. Looking forward to the Academy Awards®, Entertainment Weekly’s award guru David Canfield exclaims, “Our headline: Promising Young Woman asserts itself as an across-the-board player, making good on months of great buzz.” In addition to Promising Young Woman being nominated for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Emerald Fennell was nominated for Best Director – Motion Picture and Best Screenplay – Motion Picture. Anya Taylor-Joy, who brought to life Jane Austen's classic heroine in Autumn de Wilde’s sumptuous new adaptation EMMA. was awarded with a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Taylor-Joy announced, “Wonderful news to wake up to — thank you to the HFPA for their love towards EMMA. and The Queen’s Gambit. What a joy.”
