Jared Leto Lets Out In on DALLAS BUYERS CLUB
In the latest issue of Out Magazine, Jared Leto opens up to Aaron Hicklin about playing Rayon in DALLAS BUYERS CLUB. He recounts a visit to a local Whole Foods -- to stare at food, since he wasn't eating any of it -- while in character as Rayon, a transgendered person with AIDS –– and the three reactions he got: "One was, 'Wait a second, is that Jared?' And then, 'No, it can't be.' The second look was, 'What is that?' And the third was, 'I don't like that.' That last look was really powerful -- to feel that hatred, that confusion, that repulsion... I couldn't imagine having to deal with that all the time, and how hurtful that would be."
