NPR Fresh Air: Mike Mills on the Radio

Beginners’ writer and director Mike Mills showed up on NPR’s Fresh Air to talk with Terry Gross about his family, his father and making Beginners. Mills and Gross are wildly entertaining to listen to, nevermore as when Mills talks about his first thoughts about making the film:

In my head I had this title that was like 'My father has a crush on the king of Spain and my mother wants to be Humphrey Bogart.' And I thought that gave me some entry or permission to do the unspeakable thing of talking about my parents. So I didn't know how in the heck I was going to do it. So I was thinking about it while he was alive.
