One Day starts shooting Today
Production on Lone Scherfig’s film adaptation of David Nicholls’ bestseller One Day has started in England. Nicholls adapted his novel, which has just recently entered the US market via Random House––whose film division Random House Films is a partner in the film’s production––and is climbing up the charts with a bullet. The story follows the nearly 20-year relationship between Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess) after the two meet as graduating students in 1988. Emma is a working-class lass with dreams of becoming a writer, while Dex, an upper-class bon vivant, just wants to find himself. The filming will take place in England, Scotland and France and will be released by Focus in the third quarter of 2011. For more, check out the press release.
