Production has begun in the United Kingdom on writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson’s untitled new film. Focus Features holds worldwide rights, and will distribute the film in the United States later in 2017 with Universal Pictures handling international distribution.
Story
Continuing their creative collaboration following 2007’s There Will Be Blood, which earned Mr. Day-Lewis the Best Actor Academy Award, Mr. Anderson will once again explore a distinctive milieu of the 20th century. The new movie is a drama set in the couture world of 1950s London. The story illuminates the life behind the curtain of an uncompromising dressmaker commissioned by royalty and high society.
Cast
Three-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis will be joined on screen by Lesley Manville and Vicky Krieps.
Ms. Manville's work in Another Year earned her a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress. The performance also brought her accolades from the National Board of Review, the National Society of Film Critics and the London Critics Circle. She earlier starred for Mike Leigh in Topsy-Turvy.
In 2011 Ms. Krieps made her American film debut in Focus' Hanna. She has since put together a prolific body of work both in the States and Europe. Her other films include A Most Wanted Man.

In 2005, Mr. Tildesley served as production designer on Focus' The Constant Gardener which earned him a nomination from the Art Directors Guild for Excellence in Production Design.
The film will be the fourth collaboration between Mr. Anderson and BAFTA Award-nominated [Marie Antoinette] set decorator Véronique Melery, Academy Award-nominated [There Will Be Blood and Zero Dark Thirty] film editor Dylan Tichenor, and BAFTA Award-nominated [There Will Be Blood] composer Jonny Greenwood.
