PINES Comes Home to Schenectady, New York

Derek Cianfrance's crime epic THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES will return to where it all began with a special screening on April 11, 2013 in Schenectady, the upstate New York city in which story takes place and the film was shot. Among the locales featured in PINES are the Schenectady Police Department, Schenectady City Hall, First National Bank of Scotia, Trustco Bank (see above), Ellis Hospital, the Route 7 Diner, Schenectady High School, and the Altamont Fair.

The film's director Dereck Cianfrance, along with select cast members, will be present for this special screening at the Bow Tie Cinemas' Movieland 6 theaters on April 11. "Bringing THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES back to Schenectady to show it to the town that truly helped make it is both humbling and exciting," Mr. Cianfrance said. "Schenectady is an amazing and inspiring community, and everyone on the production - especially those of us with family in the town - is so grateful that we had the opportunity to shoot there."
