Sofia Coppola talks Antonioni and Alienation in Somewhere with Boston Phoenix

Peter Keough at Boston’s alternative The Phoenix recently published an interview he did with Somewhere director Sofia Coppola. It’s fast moving chat that moves from autobiography to Tron to Antonioni. On the comparison of her work to the great Italian director, Coppola says:

I appreciate his work, but I'm not trying to emulate it or have it in mind. He definitely dealt with another era, and I'm talking about things in our contemporary life.
