Her first lesson, “Under one roof, one finds many storeys, er, stories,” is culled from both the classic Grand Hotel and more mordern films, like Quentin Tarantino and others’s quartet Four Rooms and Hawke’s Chelsea Walls.” And while she pulls hotel advice from a range of films from The Shining, Barton Fink, and North by Northwest, she never fully explains what we learn about hotels from Somewhere.
