From the trailers that are already out there - and the fact it's directed by former photographer Anton Corbijn - you probably already know that Focus Features' forthcoming movie with George Clooney, The American, is a visually stylish affair.
However, it's not just the cinematography that is stylish, it's also got real class in the sartorial department, as Chris Laverty at the blog Clothes on Film points out. Laverty notes that "the costume design by Suttirat Anne Larlarb is so stylishly contemporary and, despite the title, clean and European," and posts a number of images from the film as he breaks down the looks of a number of the principal protagonists.
For example, of Clooney he writes:
"George Clooney’s serious hitman Jack, here casual in hip length lightweight jacket and black zip sweater. Very much designer outdoor wear for those who want to look as good as the countryside they are walking in."
