The BAFTA Longlist comes from the first round of voting for The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards. This year, several Focus Films scored high on the Longlist. TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY scored really big, with 16 nominations, including Best Film, Director (Tomas Alfredson), Leading Actor (Gary Oldman), Supporting Actor/s (Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Hurt), Supporting Actress (Kathy Burke), Best Adapted Screenplay and more. Again high on the Longlist was Cary Fukunaga's JANE EYRE, which scored 8 nominations, including Outstanding British Film, Leading Actress (Mia Wasikowska), Adapted Screenplay, and many more. BEGINNERS got some love with two noms, including one for Best Supporting Actor (Christopher Plummer) and Best Original Screenplay. Finally Helen Mirren got a nomination for Best Leading Actress for her role in THE DEBT. Great news for all. The second round of voting occurs January 17, with the final Awards handed out on February 12.
