Twitter Loves Teyana Taylor in the Trailer for A Thousand and One

Fans want to give the star of A.V. Rockwell’s Sundance winner all of the awards

Last week, the trailer for A.V. Rockwell’s feature A Thousand and One dropped, and people are already enthralled by the emotional tale of motherhood in New York City, as well as Teyana Taylor’s powerhouse performance. The film—which opens in theaters on March 31—follows the strong, free-spirited Inez (Taylor) who, after kidnapping her six-year-old son Terry from the foster care system, struggles to raise him in a rapidly changing New York City.

The film received rave reviews when it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, also winning the fest’s Grand Jury Prize. Deadline called it, “A love letter to mothers, sons, daughters, the poor, displaced and the hustlers of NYC,” and The New York Times suggested Taylor’s performance could “earn best-actress attention” come award season next year.

Having now seen the trailer, Twitter is equally excited. Here’s what people are saying online.
