The trailer for Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke’s Drive-Away Dolls dropped a week ago, and Twitter is excited for the upcoming ride. The comedy caper follows the free-spirited Jamie (Margaret Qualley) and her friend Marian (Geraldine Viswanathan) as their spur-of-the-moment trip to Tallahassee goes awry when they tangle with a group of inept criminals along the way. The film also stars Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal, Beanie Feldstein, Colman Domingo, and Bill Camp.
For lovers of the Coen brothers, the film marks a return to their zany humor, as well as a new direction. “We’re getting a new kind of Coen comedy with women front and center, and that rules,” The Mary Sue writes. For Advocate, the trailer “promises good old-fashioned lesbian bar scenes, queer actors, bad guys, intrigue, and an epic car ride all wrapped up with Coen’s signature wackiness.”
And for Twitter, the trailer promises a good time for all.
Drive-Away Dolls is in theaters February 23.
