Two Golden Globes Noms for DALLAS BUYERS CLUB

Nominations for the 71st annual Golden Globes Awards were announced today, with DALLAS BUYERS CLUB coming home with two noms: One for Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) for Matthew McConaughey and one for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) for Jared Leto. On hearing of his nomination, Matthew McConaughey commented, "I'm excited and honored that the HFPA has recognized my performance in DALLAS BUYERS CLUB. Ron Woodroof was a revolutionary for the human spirit, and I was blessed to tell his story." And Jared Leto added, "This is absolutely incredible. I want to thank the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for shining a light on DALLAS BUYERS CLUB and for celebrating independent cinema. I'm blown away by this Golden Globe Award nomination and so thankful to the incredible filmmakers for inviting me to help bring a fascinating story to the screen. This has been an unforgettable experience and I'm so very grateful to you all." Focus Feature has been a regular recipient of Golden Globes awards. Previous films that have won Golden Globes are LOST IN TRANSLATION, ATONEMENT, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, and THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT. As for actors, Bill Murray won for LOST IN TRANSLATION, and Colin Farrell for IN BRUGES. And Annette Bening won for best Actress for THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT.
