Focus Features has been named the U.S. distributor of Participant Media and Working Title's Untitled Entebbe Project.

Story

A gripping political thriller inspired by the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris, the film depicts the most daring rescue mission ever attempted.

The Untitled Entebbe Project brings the longstanding conflict between Israel and Palestine into focus by recounting the heroic military mission while also exploring the nuanced perspectives of both sides.

Forty years after the event that gripped the world, its consequences are still be discussed.  As The Guardian wrote last spring, "Entebbe would become a byword for military daring...A raid that lasted a total of 99 minutes would live on for decades."

Cast

In addition to Ms. Pike and Mr. Brühl (soon to be seen in Focus Features' The Zookeeper's Wife), the Untitled Entebbe Project features an international cast, including Eddie Marsan (Focus' 2017 The Coldest City), Ben Schnetzer (Snowden), Lior Ashkenazi (Footnote) and Denis Ménochet (Inglourious Basterds).

Filmmakers

Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner produced the movie with Kate Solomon, Michelle Wright, and Ron Halpern. Participant produced and fully financed through Amblin Partners, with Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King executive-producing. Olivier Courson, Jean-Claude Darmon, Angela Morrison, Liza Chasin, and Jo Burn are also executive producers.
