W walks the Red Carpet withJane Eyre

In W Magazine’s blog, Virginia VanZanten gave a glamorous blow-by-blow of the premiere of Jane Eyre at the Tribeca Grand Hotel in New York City. She covers it all––from the red carpet with Michael Fassbender joking with journalists to the screening (with Focus CEO James Schamus quipping “If the Academy has proved anything, it’s that people never get tired of English accents”) to to the after party upstairs at the Tribeca Grand. In addition to talking about the film, she captures the fashion angle:

The audience also gets a first look at Wasikowska’s corseted costumes, “I kept complaining about the corset with Alice [in Wonderland] and I didn’t realize how unnecessary that was until I got into the Jane corset, which was absolutely painful,” she says. Though with a waist as impossibly tiny as hers, it’s hard to imagine what was left to nip in.
